wally scharold is a music-nerd. whether he is composing for chamber orchestra, virtual death metal bands, children's toys, or whatever, his music evokes encyclopedic knowledge of all genres to the point that any + all attempts at classification are lost + really serve no practical purpose whatsoever. while too many people in the art-music world are busy dropping names + turning up their noses, he is quite happy playing with the dirt at the bottom of the hole he has dug to keep him snugly beneath it all, + ohhhhh what a view it is.
