thom blum has been composing electroacoustic music since 1972.  his works have been presented in concerts, festivals + radio broadcasts internationally.  recent performances include the san francisco tape music festival, new adventures in sound art's (NAISA, toronto) “sonic portraits,” the long haul, a sound installation at cowell theater (san francisco), live soundscaping for men think they are better than grass, by deborah slater dance theater (yerba buena gardens esplanade, san francisco), medi(t)ations – australasian computer music conference (adelaide, australia), + the santa fe international festival of new music.  in 1978 he co-founded the international computer music association + is currently a member the san francisco tape music collective which is dedicated to preparing + presenting spatial diffusions of fixed media (“tape”) music.
