evan johnson

evan is a graduate of The Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre in blue lake, california. he has worked with Double Edge Theatre in ashfield, massachusetts as a company Intern and toured as his clown alvin mcgee with members of Ricochet Circus Theatre to cities in india, funded by an Arts Grant from the U.S. Department of State. in 2007, he completed a month long character-based clown intensive in boulder, colorado, led by giovanni fusetti. evan has taught workshops in clowning and physical theatre to children in santa fe, new mexico as well as classes in sacramento, california and surrounding areas, including work with developmentally disabled adults and local high school students. he co-created The Hello Show! an original comedy act created in 2007, in which he played multiple small town characters in a mock-talent show. in 2008 the show was presented in a month long tour to small towns in california. since moving to san francisco in april, evan has performed solo as alvin mcgee with SF Boylesque and at Supper Club. he is also actively performing another comedic character martha t. lipton, the failed actress, at a variety of drag/cabaret venues. in august, evan performed with Naked Empire Bouffon Company in SHAME!,  an original  grotesque queer performance presented at Mama Calizo’s Voice Factory (MCVF). also at MCVF, and most recently, evan performed solo in his original queer horror play Don't Feel: The Death of Dahmer, as a 2010 DIY Resident Artist co-produced by his company 11.11 Art Group. some favorite past traditional theatre roles include Alan in Equus, Adam in The Shape of Things, Bob in Beyond Therapy and Louis in Angels in America: Millennium Approaches.
