bill wolter is a guitarist, composer, multimedia artist, + sound engineer working in the san francisco bay area. his music hovers around experimental rock, jazz, noise, new music, + all areas in between. bill is a multi-instrumentalist focused on electric guitar. he studied composition with fred frith, pauline oliveros, + alvin curran at mills college, + other folks at the university of new mexico such as the herminator richard hermann, steve block, + chris shultis. he plays guitar in bay area b+s Slydini, Innerear Brigade, Tribal Genes, + as a hired gun in other ensembles + b+s (SF Sound, Moe!kestra, jobbing bands, etc.) in addition, bill creates audio/visual live performance instruments, working in a mixture of intermedia, performance art, theatre, + installation.
