ben azarm

ben azarm studied electronic-music composition with robert ashley + david behrman at the center for contemporary music at mills college in the early 80s. his aesthetic schemas are drawn from artificial + fabricated rendition of imprints of the iconic culture. he treats composition as a medium of mutation to unfetter sonic contents from their pre-perceived aural ‘meaning’. he has realized his work through a wide range of media including computers, text, video, surveillance devices, + the human psychosomatic system. his compositions have extensively been performed in major US venues, ranging from new music america festival 81 to the interpretations series at merkin hall, nyc.
